Investing in Senegal

Setting up — incorporate, recruit, establish

Creating the structure

Business law here is OHADA law, common to 17 states: uniform-law SARL, SA or SAS, registration with the RCCM, a NINEA tax number — no Kbis or URSSAF here, and French legal reflexes do not transpose as-is. Incorporation goes through APIX's one-stop shop; our dedicated guide details every step, legal forms and official costs included.

What APIX does for investors

Beyond incorporation, the 2025 Code entrusts APIX with processing approvals, a single digital platform for paperless procedures, facilitation of access to land, and support in obtaining visas and residence permits for investors and their foreign staff. The agency also plays a dispute-prevention role with the administration — engage it early, in writing, and keep records.

Recruiting

The labour market offers a young pool — 75% of the population is under 35 — fed by public universities, private schools and a growing network of vocational training centres. Senegalese labour law governs fixed-term, permanent and temporary contracts; hiring foreign staff is free in the Investment Code's terms, subject to immigration rules. For wages and payroll charges, rely on a local accountant: minima and scales evolve, and figures circulating online are rarely current.
